Henry's Big Kaboom Trailer Video

Henry’s Big Kaboom, the Trailer

In 2017, I launched a children's book for my three grandsons about their great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather Henry Knox. In 1775, Henry accomplished an amazing feat. He organized an expedition to transport 60 tons of heavy weaponry from Fort Ticonderoga to the Dorchester Hills overlooking Boston. I thought it was a fun story even before I learned that Knox was my ancestor. I love to write lyrics, so I wrote this story as a sing-along ballad with a repeatable chorus. You can sing it to the old folk tune "Turkey in the Straw."

Henry’s Big Kaboom, the Animated Book

My brother, Charles Ames, is a wiz when it comes to music and computers. Using various instrumentation, he arranged the music to accompany this animated version of Henry's Big Kaboom. Happy singing.

The Mayflower Story Animated
Part 1: The Puritans and the Separatists

In 2007, I created this animated story about my ancestors who came to America on the Mayflower. For this latest, shorter edition, I cut the bit about the Reformation and instead highlight why my Puritan and Separatist ancestors wanted to leave England between 1608 and 1623. Parts 2 through 5 about the Mayflower's, Fortune's, and Anne's voyages are still in the editing room. Coming soon.
