The Mayflower Story - Animated - Part 1 - The Puritans and the Separatists

The Mayflower Story Animated
Part 1: The Puritans and the Separatists

In 2007, I created this animated story about my ancestors who came to America on the Mayflower. For this latest, shorter edition, I cut the bit about the Reformation and instead highlight why my Puritan and Separatist ancestors wanted to leave England between 1608 and 1623. Parts 2 through 5 about the Mayflower's, Fortune's, and Anne's voyages are still in the editing room. Coming soon.

Joining Hereditary Societies

After joining the Mayflower Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), I learned that there are over 650 different hereditary societies, groups that require you to show a particular ancestry to belong. One man and one woman I met both belong to over thirty such fellowships. I wrote this article to share what else I learned. What are hereditary societies? What do they do? How do I join? Are they any fun? Are they educational? Are they exclusive? This article is on a separate web page. There is no download.
